Killing Cain
“Selflessness and honor, versus selfishness and convenience. The reality is that we are on this Earth before we are in Heaven, so we have spiritual responsibilities as Christians that God has asked of us. Are we fulfilling these spiritual responsibilities with honor, in a selfless manner, or are we fulfilling these responsibilities out of our own convenience because we are selfish? Pastor Dennis shows us that looking at Cain, temptation came through his selfish desires, and when he nurtured it, it nurtured spiritual death. Nurturing spiritual death will lead us to falling away from Christ. Falling away from Christ is not us having lost our salvation, but to the point of where we are willingly giving it up. Not wanting anything to do with God, which is what we see with Cain. Pastor Dennis also shows us the importance of having leaders in our life that can tell us if we are out of bounds. When we have those boundaries in place, it will help us from choosing to be influenced by the same spirit that worked in Cain, and being led down a path of destruction. It will help us to choose to fulfill our Godly responsibilities, with honor and a selfless heart. Which in turn will then lead to the blessings of God.”
